about

You stumble slowly into the high tide. The waves and freezing blackness roar around you. A baptism by immersion. What came before is a distant memory. You’ve never felt more at peace in the maelstrom.

While still sulking through the shrouded alleys that connect industrial, black metal, and dark ambient music, “The Bleeding Coast” is a new mutation for Wilshire Corridor. The heavy rhythms and vocals prominent on their first album, “The Fig & The Wasp”, have dissipated, leaving only a viscous murk in their place. Heavy, churning drones fill the void, creating an impenetrable darkness. Feedback and distortion ripple and crack at the edges. The anxiety, weight, and unease give way to moments of calm - an almost melancholy resignation to the elements. With this new album, Wilshire Corridor has created the perfect soundtrack for being dragged into the frigid depths and swallowed whole.
